[Today Energy Reporter Hong Si-hyun] Daehan Flexible Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoon Jung-woong) will participate in the ‘14th Korea International Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Exhibition (HARFKO 2017),’ held at KINTEX in Gyeonggi-do from March 7 to 10, and will showcase antibacterial flexible hoses with added antibacterial functions.

Due to the nature of air conditioning duct products, they are installed in dark and humid areas above the ceiling. Over time, dust accumulates, creating an optimal environment for bacteria to multiply. As fresh air passes through contaminated ducts, these ducts become a pathway for bacteria that can cause various allergies and respiratory diseases.

Daehan Flexible, with a 35-year history of flexible duct manufacturing, has launched the ‘Antibacterial Flexible Duct (D-500BT)’ after extensive research and development, which eradicates four types of bacteria and five types of mold harmful to the human body. This antibacterial flexible hose, which incorporates antibacterial functions into aluminum equipped with excellent flame-retardant properties that prevent the spread of fire, offers superior sustained antibacterial efficacy through inorganic antibacterial performance. It supplies clean air to offices, hospitals, and buildings by inhibiting bacterial reproduction and simultaneously eradicating bacteria upon contact with the surface.

This product has been patented as a fabric for antibacterial flexible hoses and a method for manufacturing the same (Patent No. 10-1342457), and patent applications are currently pending in the United States, Europe, and Japan. It is particularly supplied to hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturing plants, electronics companies, and Tier 1 construction firms that are sensitive to bacteria, and has been certified by the National Accredited Testing & Research Institute for 99% antibacterial efficacy against four types of bacteria and five types of mold.
